Coaching Safety
The safety of every swimmer is my top priority. All lessons are designed to create a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment where children can build confidence in the water at their own pace.
Supervision and Environment
Swimmers should NEVER be left unattended during lessons.
All sessions should take place in a safe, controlled pool environment that is appropriate for the swimmer’s age and skill level.
Lessons should be stopped immediately if conditions become unsafe or if a swimmer feels uncomfortable.
Instructor Responsibility
Skills are to be taught step by step, ensuring swimmers are comfortable before moving on.
Physical support should ALWAYS be provided when introducing new skills such as floating, gliding, or breathing techniques.
CLEAR verbal instructions and demonstrations should be used to help swimmers understand each movement.
Health and Readiness
Parents or guardians should inform the coach of any medical conditions, allergies, or fears related to water.
Swimmers should be encouraged to take breaks when needed and are never to be pushed beyond their limits.
Proper hydration and rest are encouraged before and after lessons.
Emergency Preparedness
Basic water safety and emergency procedures should be followed at all times.
The coach should remain alert and ready to respond quickly in case of an emergency.
Emergency equipment and pool safety rules are to be respected and followed.
Positive and Respectful Coaching
Lessons are conducted in a calm, respectful, and encouraging manner.
Fear and anxiety should be handled with patience and reassurance.
Every swimmer should be treated with respect, kindness, and care.
By following these safety guidelines, swim lessons remain a fun, secure, and effective experience that helps swimmers develop lifelong water confidence and skills.
